PECHAKUCHA

We have been working on this power point about Iceland to make a virtual trip. But it has a particularity, it is a Pechakucha, this means, than each slide of the presentation lasts 20 seconds. Hope you like it!

1. General presentation

2. although it looks like is always freezing, it isn’t. The weather is changing a lot, from rains and storms to sunny in like 5 minutes. Also is more warmer than we think because Caribbean air flows here. But, because of that the cold air of the Atlantic and this hot one mix and create a lot of wind and storm. Also the south part of the country gets more rainfull than the north. The temperatures are low in winter and in summer they can go up to 25 degrees.

3. About the transport, Iceland is an island so it is possible to go by water transports or by plane. So we have thought that the most comfortable way of going was by plane. Around the country you can move by local buses or by trains.

4. we are going to go to a hostal named Kex Hostel and is in the centre of Reykjavik, it costs 51 euros a night and you have the airport 12minutes away and a lot of local buses 3 minutes away. As you see in the picture you can clearly see the Auroras

5. Here we can see a map with things to do near the hostal of Reykjavik.

6. tourists attraction: lot of people are attracted to iceland because of their landscape such as the aurora borealis, geysers, waterfalls… but also some people go there because it was filmed there game of thrones.

7. Iceland is also known for having this type of houses at the outskirts near the mountain in a very natural habitat. As you see this small houses are covered with grass.

8. hot springs: those are really common in iceland. you can find lots of them some of which are natural (the most ones) and others are created by humans. you can have hot springs in caves and also in volcanoe named viti which means hell, the water temperature is between 20 and 60 degrees and some parts are really hot.

9. Geysers are like volcanos but with water. This one, which is called Strokkur, is located in the Houkadalur natural park and it ejets water every 14 minutes. This is a very rare phenomenon, they exist only 1000.

10. Seljalandsfoss is a waterfall in Iceland. Seljalandsfoss is located in the South Region in Iceland right by Route 1 and the road that leads to Þórsmörk Road 249.The waterfall drops 60 m (197 ft) and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull. Visitors can walk behind the falls into a small cave

11. It is located in a National Park of Iceland and it’s one of the most popular sights in the park. It is surrounded by dark lava columns which gave rise to it’s name. It is unique and very beautiful.

12. The music of Iceland includes vibrant folk and pop traditions, as well as an active classical and contemporary music scene. Well-known artists from Iceland include medieval music group Voces Thules, alternative rock band The Sugarcubes, singers Björk, Hafdís Huld and Emiliana Torrini, post-rock band Sigur Rós, post-metal band Sólstafir, indie folk/indie pop band Of Monsters and Men and metal band Skálmöld. Iceland's traditional music is related to Nordic music forms. Although Iceland has a very small population, it is home to many famous and praised bands and musicians.

13. Iceland hosts a variety of music festivals. The biggest festival is Iceland Airwaves with over 9000 guests. It takes place in the central area of Iceland’s capital city Reykjavík for five days at the beginning of November. There is also an up-and-coming festival, Secret Solstice, which was held for the first time in the summer of 2014, June 20–22. The festival took place at the Laugardalur recreational area, also known as Hot Spring Valley, which is located just 15 minutes from downtown Reykjavik. There are also a number of intimate and transformative festivals that happen year-round in the countryside, such as Saga Fest in Selfoss and LungA Art Festival in Seyðisfjörður.

14. Mythology: Iceland Has A Rich Mythology That Is Full Of Magic And Fantastic Creatures Such As Elfs, Fairies, Trolls… %54 Of People From Iceland Believe That This Creatures Exists And That They Are Hiding In The Nature.
There Are A Lot Of Fantastic Cratures As Here. For Example The Huldufolk Are Magic Creatures Of Iceland That Look Like Humans But They Aren’t And Are Similar To Fairies Or Elfs. They Hide Behind Rocks From Humans But Some People Say That They Have Seen Them

15. These is reynisdrangar, a beach of iceland. But is not only a beach, also it is known because these three rocks that you see are believed to be three trolls. The story is that three trolls went out of the cave to help a boat reach the beach and they helped the boat all night and it took them a long time so the sun came out and that transformed them into rock.

16. The only traditional dance in Iceland is a type of folk dance, which requires the body to be pretty stiff (although it´s a pretty fun dance) and it doesn’t require any bouncy moves or hip movements. So Icelanders can  be a little shy about twerking their bums and more in favour of moving their arms and legs.

17. Iceland is surrounded by ocean, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that fish and seafood is a big part of the Icelandic cuisine. Most of the traditional Icelandic food revolves around fish, dairy, bread, potatoes, and lamb.
The roots of Iceland’s cuisine comes from the Scandinavian cuisine after Norse Vikings settled here during the 9th century and onwards.Today, food from all over the world is widely available at the restaurants in Reykjavik and other cities. A lot of the restaurants specialize in seafood with an emphasis on quality of products, rather than the traditional ways of cooking.
18. Rúgbrauð is an Icelandic straight rye bread. It is traditionally baked in a pot or steamed in special wooden casks by burying it in the ground near a hot spring, in which case it is known as "hot-spring-bread". Modern rúgbrauð is usually made in a square baking pan. The bread is crustless, dark and very dense, usually rather sweet, and keeps for a long time. It is often served with butter, mutton pâté, hangikjöt (smoked lamb), or with pickled herring. Dry rúgbrauð would be ground and mixed with buttermilk to form a kind of porridge. Stale rúgbrauð is often soaked, then made into brauðsúpa (bread soup) - that is, simmered with raisins and flavorings (usually lemon) and served hot with whipped cream as a dessert.

19. Iceland is also know because of the famous HBO serie Game of Thrones. Lots of the scenes were filmed there. From season 2 of the show onwards, Iceland was the main filming location for the scenes set north of the wall, and scenery from Iceland appears in every GoT season after season 1.

20. As a conclusion, Iceland is a great place to visit because of the interesting culture and the beautiful places that it has. Besides, there are so many things to do, like going to music festivals, culinary tourism, watch the typical dances, watch the northern lights and more natural paradises. Due to all this, we think that it is an awesome country and that everybody should visit it at least once.

POLITICAL MARKETING

Hi, yesterday we talked about the elections and how their posters have a marketing influence on the voters. So now I'm going to choose three of all the posters of the general elections of 2019 and talk about them.

PSOE

Resultado de imagen de PSOE HAZ QUE PASEThis is PSOEs poster. Here we can see the words "haz que pase", which mean in english "make it happen". These are written in red because it's the parties  representational color. They are on the face of Pedro Sanchez and it's a portrait in black and white, because of it the slogan stands out more. Also you can see that the letters which are on Sanchez's mouth are not colored, telling us that we can talk, speak, give our vote.
I think that this slogan wants to say that WE are the ones who choose who is going to represent us in the government, so WE have to make it happen, as it says. Also, obviously they or he wants to make us vote to his political party.
This Sunday the elections began and for now the party who is winning is PSOE, the one that I've commented on. This party had won around 123 "seats". So, for now they are going to be our representatives.
To summarize, this poster is aesthetically good and modern, the slogan is good because with the word "haz" shows that they are talking to us in a direct way and telling us that we are going to be the ones that can make a change voting to them. I think that is a well prepared slogan and picture.

PP

Resultado de imagen de PP VALOR SEGUROHere we have the PP's slogan and poster. The first thing we see is Pablo Casados face and the slogan "Valor seguro" which translates to "safe value". The picture is very simple, with a white background  and the words in blue, this color is the representative color of the party. Also the word "seguro" is in bold, which means that is has more importance and stands out more.
This slogan wants us to vote for them, again, because they think that as they have been lots of years representative the country it's the most safe vote. They want us to think that we are going to be safe voting to them.
PP has lost lots of "seats" this year from having a majority the last elections with 177 seats, to having 66 this year.
To sum up, this posters wants to transmit security on the voters, but this security that they talk about has not convinced a lot of citizens.

PACMA

Resultado de imagen de pacma elecciones 2019This is the one of the posters of the party PACMA. You can see the words "revolucion" which mean "revolution" written on different colors on it. On the background there is a picture of a person hugging a dog that looks happy. The representative color of this party I would say that is green and it appears on the picture but not as much as on the other posters of other party's.
This slogan tell us that we have to be part of the revolution to change the country, which now isn't in it's best moment. This party is mainly known because they want to make more animal rights, and in the picture we can see the dog representating the animals and not as in the other partys the face or portrait of the representative. I think that this wants to show that animals are the same as humans and that they must have the same rights as us.
Summarizing, this party wants to show us the importance of animals as in the picture and also in their electoral campaign. The words revolution have a lot of strength on them and they are trying to use that strength to make us vote for them because we are the ones, the citizens, who can make the change.

Bicycle Thieves, Vittoria De Sica, 1948

``Bicycle Thieves´´ is a 1948 drama film, which was directed by Vittorio De Sica. It tells the story of a man whose bicycle was stolen in Rome at the second post Word War. The bicycle is very important for him because without it he will lose his job, so he won´t be able to feed his family.

This story is inspired by the second post World War. At these ages there was not enough food, so the hunger it was very widespread. These is the reason why the father was so hopeless for finding the bicycle. Even if he was upset, weak or wrong, he would give everything he had for his family.

It is a very slow film, and this might be a bit boring, but it is very realistic so you can see how people was living at these ages.

In my opinion, is a boring film, so I didn´t enjoy watching it, but for someone who likes realistic slow films, I think it will love it.

-Easy to prepare
-Healthy
-Yummy

-Kids don’t usually eat fish

THE OPPORTUNITIES:

-A new product.
-For people of all ages
-Different from the rest

FAVORITE FILM

Today, our teacher told us to analyse another film, this time we're gonna do it with our favorite film, mine is Pearl Harbor.

Pearl Harbor is a 2001 American romantic period war drama film directed by Michael Bay,Rafe and Danny are best friends who are also pilots. When World War II breaks out in Europe, America chooses not to join but they train nonetheless, so Rafe and Danny join the Army Air Corps. Rafe meets a nurse named Evelyn and falls for her. But when he gets an opportunity to go join the Britsh Air Corps, he jumps at it. Shortly after he leaves, he gets shot down and is reported killed. Danny and Evelyn who are stationed in Pearl Harbor, lean on each other after learning of what happened to Rafe. It isn't long that they're together. But suddenly Rafe returns. And when he learns about them, he freaks out and he goes after Danny. But suddenly Pearl Harbor is attacked, and they shoot down some the planes attacking them. Later, Roosevelt decides to retaliate against Japan and Colonel Doolittle is placed in charge and asks Rafe and Danny to join him and they accept knowing that the chances of them coming back is slim. But things between them are still tense. I love this film because is romantic and very moving.

It is a very large film, so I don't know really which is my favorite scene, but the most one would be the final one and the love story between Danny, Rafe and the nurse.

I would recommend this film to all those who like moving, romantic and war films, is the type of film to watch on a rainy day with some friends and popcorn.

A PICTURE

For this project we had to take a photo of the neighborhood of the school. This is my photo:

KRISSIA CHALLENGE

OUR PROJECT FOR THE CHALLENGE

CRUNCHY KRISSIA

1. Detail your idea:

Our idea is to mix pieces of crunchy krissia with mayonaisse in a container. This pieces, are crunchy from the outside and on the inside are soft, so we tough to put a fork to eat it more easily. This two products will be in the same container but separated in two sections.
There will be two different packagings: The individual one, which will cost 1€ and the pack of 6, which will cost 4€ and will carry a toy whose name is “catch me Crabbie”.

This product is going to be consumed by kids and the parents will buy it. Because of that, our product is going to be easy to prepare, healthy and cheap. The kids will love it because is yummy and can win a toy and the parents will love it because their children will eat more fish.

2. Two virtues

Our idea has not only 2 virtues, it has a lot more because is the best idea you have ever heard !!!

One virtue could be that you don’t have to cook it, you buy it and you can eat it right away. Parents like the fact that you don’t have to cook something, overcoat busy parents.

Another virtue could be that it may be sold in candy shops, so kids will see the attractive packaging and they’ll buy it. When kids see that many kids buys the product it will become little by little famous and many people will be buying it, aslo kids with their pay.

3. Two problems and your response

We didn’t have any big problems in this project. One of the problems we had was that we didn't know which sauce to put in our CRUNCHY KRISSIA. We thought about putting a healthy sauce like avocado sauce but finally we decided to put mayonnaise.

Another problem was that we didn’t know what to put to take the crunchy krissia pieces and deep them in the sauce. We thought about a toothpick but finally we decided to put a small fork.

4. How to make it real? What do you need to make it possible.

This are the essential materials and ingredients to make our product possible:

A container and a fork
             Mayonaisse
Pieces of krissia crunchy

5. Which points of the challenge do you address with your proposition.

The people that told us the challenge told us some points and in our we added some of them, for example:

I- The product had to be for kids or young people, for kids it may be very appealing.
II- We’re promoting the idea that eating fish is good for kids and they can eat fish eating our Crunchy Krissia !!!
III- Is a healthy product.

6. Which technical help do you need

We will need some help to create a package that will attract young people.

7. Why is your project the best possible?

We think that our idea is the best, because, like we have already said, it is easy to prepare, so you don´t need to waste your time cooking or even preparing it. Also, it a very unique idea because we can´t find any product for children with fish, nevertheless our idea is very yummy, it tastes like glory.

PRESENTATION ABOUT A PHOTOGRAPHER

We had had to do a work in couples about a photographer and we chose to do it about Brassai. So, here is the presentation Elsa and I made last week:

So now, we are going to comment the first photo and express how we feel about it and the different points:

As we can see, there appear two people sitting on a bench, a woman and a man. In the right side we can see an old woman who is holding a basket, in  the other side, there is a man, it seems that he is drunk or tired. This image shows that the man represents the young age, like he lives his life at the fullest. And the woman shows the old aged people who have lived all and now are tired of living, we can see that in her face-expression. The photo is technically taken in a way that the viewer is capable to see the both sides of the bench. Also Brassais style is to take photos in black and white and it gives a more mysterious and intense look.

PECHAKUCHA

We have been working on this power point about Iceland to make a virtual trip. But it has a particularity, it is a  Pechakucha , this means...
